Athletes of the Week for 4-6

Back to boys.

MOUNT SI-We roll onto the pitch for this one, and hand it out to boys’  soccer sophomore Dane Aldrich, who scored three goals this past week – two last Tuesday in a Wildcat win over LW, and another one last Friday in a Mount Si win over Juanita. His huge week now has him among the league leaders in scoring, with four goals. Dane is not  the only Aldrich family member making noise this spring; his older brother Derek, a 2006 Mount Si grad, is the starting left fielder for the NCAA D-III George Fox Bruins college baseball team down in Newberg, OR, and he is having a good season as well.

CEDARCREST-We head to the track to give this award to junior Justin Houser, who won the javelin event and finished third in three other competitions at last week’s Red Wolves league track meet in Sultan. Houser’s efforts helped the Red Wolves boys take second in that meet as a team. Houser was among the key figures on last fall’s CHS football team which made a run to the state playoffs opening round before they fell to Anacortes in that game.
