Athletes of the Week for 4-20

Boys, and these are very obvious choices.

MOUNT SI – Baseball is the last remaining boys sport that has yet to get an athlete recognized, so this is real good timing for sure. The award goes to senior Tim Proudfoot for what will go down as maybe one of the best individual weeks any Mount Si baseball player has had in recent years. Proudfoot hit over .500 with five homers and six RBI’s and also made several key defensive plays during the course of last week’s games to help keep Mount Si unbeaten in league and 10-1 overall on the season. The Bellevue College signee is among the top players in Kingco 3A and last Monday’s game over Liberty was proof of that, with three homers in that game alone.

CEDARCREST – Boys’ soccer this week, and it goes to Juan Valera, who scored goals in two games last week as the Red Wolves went 2-1 on the week. CHS’ boys’ soccer team is holding its own in the Cascade Conference with a 5-3-1 record as it looks for a postseason spot, and Valera’s play will be key to that effort.
