BREAKING NEWS: The incredible streak for Wildcat baseball comes to an end

The streak is over, but it was quite a ride.

Mount Si’s baseball team saw their 15-game win streak come to an end this afternoon in their game at Safeco Field. The potent Wildcat bats were limited to just one hit by four Nathan Hale pitchers in a 3-1 loss to the Raiders.

Mount Si’s lone run was scored in the second. Senior Max Brown opened the frame with a triple, the lone Wildcat hit, then scored on a Nate Sinner sacrifice fly. Nathan Hale opened with a pair in the first, then added another in the fourth in a game which took under 90 minutes to complete. Wildcat pitchers Hudson Luxich and Shane Dixon themselves combined to hold Hale to just three hits.

Today’s game was the third straight season Mount Si has had a game at Safeco Field; the game is the result of Mount Si boosters selling 1,000 tickets to a selected Mariners game; they likely will be doing this again this spring, with the hope of doing this again next season.

The Wildcats resume league play Monday night with a big game at Lee Johnson Field against Lake Washington. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
