Galloway makes her college choice

Fall practice is right around the corner, and another incoming Mount Si senior has announced her college intentions.

Volleyball player Krista Galloway has announced her commitment to OIT, better known as Oregon Tech, to play volleyball for them starting next year, according to Mount Si coach Bonnie Foote. Oregon Tech is a member of the Cascade Collegiate Conference, which includes Kirkland’s Northwest University.

Several Wildcat grads compete in sports at CCC schools, including Northwest women’s soccer players Jordyn Wilson and Jessica Oliver, Evergreen men’s soccer players Dyson Fowler and Sam Joselyn, and Southern Oregon women’s cross country and track athlete Alex Rudd.

Galloway played club ball this spring with Island Thunder 18s, a Mercer Island-based team which was among the top teams in the Puget Sound area throughout the season. Her college commitment is now the fourth from the Class of 2012; football player Josh Mitchell (Oregon State), softball player Maura Murphy (George Washington) and boys’ soccer player Davis Karaica (Seattle Pacific) have already made their decisions.
