Lacrosse and golf to wrap up things on a Sunday…..

Time for some lacrosse. Mount Si Lacrosse Club’s high school boys went down to Kirkland this past Friday and cruised to a big road win over Juanita.

Liam Mumford scored three goals and added five assists for Mount Si as they ran away with the 15-5 result over the Ravens at Juanita High School. Cameron Lailey also had three goals for the Wildcats, who also had goals in the game from Levi Henretig, Luke Jones, C.J. Rose, Kendall Saldivar, A.J. Spence, Luca Toldo and Cade Warrick. Zach Baker made 11 saves on 15 shots faced in goal for Mount Si, who is home tomorrow taking on Eastlake in a makeup of a previously postponed game. It is set for 7:30 p.m. at Sirius Sports Complex in North Bend, which is located off Highway 202 at NW 14th Street.

Now to the colleges:

Breakthrough game for Duvall’s Rezoski: This past Friday was a breakout day of sorts for junior Emme Rezoski. She had her first multi-goal game as a collegian aiding a home win for her Colorado Mesa University women’s squad.

Rezoski, from Duvall and a 2021 Cedarcrest HS/Mount Si Lacrosse Club grad, scored twice pacing CMU to a 19-10 victory over California’s Dominican University at home in Grand Junction, CO. She has now scored three goals in her last two games after only having two others in her entire college career. Additionally, she is used mostly for defensive play and faceoffs, and won nine of those in the contest. CMU wraps up the regular season this afternoon at home against Utah’s Westminster College.

Elmhurst men’s Mount Si alum trio back together, and back up to their old tricks: Well, a prevailing theme this spring, especially as of late, is to see Elmhurst University’s men get significant contributions from their three players with ties to the Snoqualmie Valley. Well, they did that again yesterday in a big way helping their Blue Jays send their opponent a strong message headed into the playoffs this week.

In a preview of their playoff matchup this coming Wednesday, Elmhurst smacked North Central of Illinois 18-6 at home outside Chicago. All three Valleyites – Eli Spence, Chris Haycock and Gabe Henry – scored goals in the game for Elmhurst, led by the four from Spence. He also assisted on three others, including two of three by Haycock. The three are from Snoqualmie and are all Mount Si HS/Mount Si Lacrosse Club grads. Henry is a freshman, Spence is a sophomore and Haycock is a senior.

Elmhurst and North Central meet again on Wednesday night in their postseason opener.

A historic season for Valley’s Vincent: Freshman Campbell Vincent scored five more goals yesterday, and etched her name in the Whitworth University women’s lacrosse history books as the first ever to score 50 goals in a season for the Pirate ladies as they cruised to a 17-5 blowout of Pacific University of Oregon in Spokane. Vincent, a 2023 MSHS grad from Snoqualmie and Mount Si Lacrosse Club alum, and her Pirate teammates wrap up the regular season today.

Markley, Lebanon Valley men run off the field in season finale: Pennsylvania’s Lebanon Valley College ended the season on a real sour note yesterday, falling 23-5 to Stevens Institute of Technology in suburban New York City. Goalie Kellen Markley made six saves in 36 minutes of action before being lifted in the second half. He is from Snoqualmie and a MSHS/MSLC alum. LVC finished 7-10 on the season with Markley going 7-9 with a 13.10 goals against average, making 184 saves on almost 400 shots faced during the season.

Oregon ladies drop finale, but advance to postseason: The University of Oregon’s women fell 20-8 on Friday to the University of Colorado in a cold Boulder, CO, closing out the regular season. Sophomore Anna Simmons, from Snoqualmie and a 2022 Mount SI HS grad, had no goals on the game for Oregon but won a couple of faceoffs. The Ducks despite the loss won tiebreakers and qualified for the postseason Pac-12 Conference women’s tournament, and they will meet Arizona State on Wednesday inside the Los Angeles Coliseum in Los Angeles.

Golf: Snoqualmie’s Warford competing in Pac-12 tournament
The University of Washington’s Drew Warford, from Snoqualmie, is representing the Valley at this weekend’s Pac-12 conference men’s golf championships, taking place outside of Phoenix. He goes into today’s final round tied for 34th after steadily worsening rounds throughout the tournament. Warford opened play Friday with a solid round of 71, then had rounds of 77 and 79 yesterday to find himself at a 14-over par 227 on the par-71 Desert Forest Golf Club layout. Warford, a junior, is a 2021 Mount Si HS alum.
